AVELYN LIM
Avelyn is a passionate yoga practitioner and teacher with a commitment to self-improvement and deepening her practice. Her favorite asana, the Wide Legged Fold, represents her love for grounded, expansive movements. Avelyn is focused on improving her self-practice to better embody the teachings she shares with her students, aiming to enhance her ability to cue effectively so others can feel more connected to their bodies.
Avelyn started practicing yoga with the intention of learning how to utilize her breath to alleviate anxiety and panic symptoms, a journey that has led her to discover its calming and healing power. Her teaching style is fun and energetic, adding a bit of oomph to her classes while creating a supportive environment for students to grow and explore. One of the major obstacles Avelyn has overcome is her fear of public speaking, which once held her back but is now a part of her growth as a teacher and communicator.
When it comes to her favorite holiday destination, Avelyn is drawn to places that are quiet, warm, and beachy, where she can reconnect with nature and find peace. Her go-to drink is water, though if she’s in the mood for something special, she enjoys an amaretto sour. Avelyn has a soft spot for pandas, especially those who practice kung fu, and her favorite quote, “There’s nothing in this world that can hurt you more than your thoughts, and there’s nothing in this world that can heal you, more than your thoughts,” speaks to her belief in the power of the mind.
Her favorite books, The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse and The Four Agreements, are sources of inspiration and guidance that she holds dear. Growing up, Avelyn aspired to be a fire engine, not as a firefighter but as the vehicle itself—a quirky yet memorable thought.
If she could have a date with anyone, it would be Tom Hardy, an actor she admires not only for his talent but for his support of dog rescue charities, which aligns with one of her dreams: to have a large home where she can rescue numerous dogs.
Avelyn’s spirit animal is the manta ray, symbolizing grace, freedom, and connection to the ocean. While she’s unsure if she has a hidden talent, she can impress with her ability to write with her left hand, despite being right-handed—a fun, quirky skill that showcases her versatility and adaptability.
