ALANA LOPERA
Alana’s yoga journey began during the lockdown when she started practicing in the comfort of her own bedroom, a space that allowed her to connect with her body and mind amidst the uncertainty of the world. Her teaching style reflects her love of dance, with sequences flowing effortlessly from one asana to the next, all while being deeply connected to the breath. Her favorite quote, “Detachment isn’t that you own nothing; detached is that nothing owns you,” reflects her belief in the power of letting go and finding freedom in non-attachment.
Alana’s favorite book, Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, has inspired her journey of self-discovery and growth, while her role model growing up was a famous ballet dancer, an aspiration that influenced her fluid and expressive teaching style. Alana looks up to Eckhart Tolle, whose teachings on mindfulness and presence align with her personal and professional philosophy. One of Alana’s dreams is to own her own dance/yoga therapy business and to be part of a professional musical, combining her love for movement and performance.
Her spirit animal is the dolphin, a symbol of joy, intelligence, and community. Alana’s hidden talent is her ability to sing, adding yet another layer to her multifaceted artistic expression.
